Attorneys Anthony Caffrey and Mackenzie Kohler recently obtained summary disposition for our client, a Fortune 100 Company. The Plaintiff sued the client (and others) seeking First-Party No Fault Benefits. We quickly moved to dismiss the case against our client, noting that our client was neither an insurer, nor a self-insurer. Indeed, Plaintiff should have been able to determine the latter from State of Michigan resources. The Court agreed and granted summary disposition, dismissing the case with prejudice.
