Practice Experience and Focus
Myisha Howard is a civil litigator born and raised in Detroit, Michigan with experience in First and Third-Party no-fault claims and premises liability claims. Early in her career, Myisha gained much of her trial experience through legal aid/community organizations such as Lakeshore Legal Aid and United Community Housing Coalition by assisting hundreds of indigent tenants enforce their rights against their landlords throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Myisha also has litigation experience in areas of family law, probate, and estate planning.
While pursuing her legal degree, Myisha was a decorated Mock Trial Competitor, an elementary school mock trial team coach, and served as a clinical student attorney and Guardian Ad Litem at the Middleton Center for Children’s Rights in Des Moines, IA. Myisha continues to hone her skills in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy.
Myisha is admitted in Michigan, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Volunteer Work
Myisha is a board member of Golden Girls Group which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mental wellness, physical health, and networking resources to women of color (and their allies) in the Metropolitan Detroit Area and beyond. Each year, Golden Girls group hosts a podcast where women have a safe space to authentically share their stories, and host quarterly events to provide resources to women in the community. These events include the Gold Link Summit which is a women’s mental wellness conference, The Kickball Pinknic Fundraiser where the organization provides physical wellness resources and raises money for their Women’s Emergency Fund, Gold Link Weekend to foster connections among women of color and their allies, and the Golden Gala which is Golden Girls Group’s Holiday Fundraiser to shine light on community leaders who promote the mission and vision of Golden Girls Group.
