Cardelli Lanfear attorney Rachelle Miller recently completed the International Society of Primerus Law Firms™ 2025 Trial Skills Academy, an immersive program designed to refine courtroom skills through structured, hands-on training.
The program began with a series of ten virtual webinars covering core aspects of trial advocacy, including jury selection, opening statements, evidence presentation, objections, direct and cross-examinations, trial motions, and closing arguments. It culminated in a three-day, in-person experience where participants conducted mock trials designed to mirror real courtroom conditions. From the proper introduction of exhibits to handling unexpected changes in witness testimony, participants were challenged to think on their feet and apply what they learned. Feedback was offered throughout the process to sharpen technique and build confidence.
Rachelle was paired with Wilson Landers of Christian & Small LLP, a fellow Primerus member, for the final mock trial, where they prepared and presented their case as co-counsel, making the experience even more valuable and collaborative.
Trial experience is essential to becoming a strong advocate. Programs like this give lawyers a chance to practice, make mistakes, and improve before stepping into a real courtroom. We are proud of Rachelle for taking on the challenge and continuing to grow as a litigator.
