Congratulations to partner Mike Smith, who recently obtained summary disposition in a slip-and-fall case.
Our firm represented a maintenance contractor in a slip-and-fall case arising from alleged snow and ice accumulation. The plaintiff claimed significant injuries and asserted that our client was responsible for the condition of the premises. Through targeted discovery and motion practice, we focused on a key legal issue: whether our client owed any duty under the circumstances presented. The Court ultimately agreed with our position and granted summary disposition in our client’s favor, resulting in a full dismissal of the claims.
Snow and ice cases often turn on nuanced questions of duty, contractual scope, and timing of services. Identifying issues early and developing a strategy to address them can be critical to achieving a successful outcome.
